Detectives investigating the disappearance of a Barnsley man in 2019 have arrested two people on suspicion of his murder.<\/p>\n
Richard Dyson, 58, has been missing since November 2019. Following extensive enquiries, the investigation team now believes he may have been killed.<\/p>\n
A 67-year-old man from Rotherham and a 68-year-old man from Barnsley, have been arrested on suspicion of his murder. They currently remain in police custody.<\/p>\n
Mr Dyson was reported missing by his 20-year-old daughter, Bethany, on 25 November 2019. It has since been established that he was last seen walking along the A6135 Sheffield Road, Hoyland at 11pm on 17 November 2019.<\/p>\n
In an appeal for more information made just before Christmas, Bethany said: \u201cEvery morning I wake up and wonder where my dad is, it\u2019s like a weight is constantly on my chest.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI miss him so much, he\u2019s a great dad and we have so many memories together. The hardest thing is not knowing. I just need answers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Officers have pursued many lines of enquiry, however, Dyson has not been traced and recent evidence suggests he may have been killed, despite no body being found.<\/p>\n
Detective Inspector Neil Coop, in charge of the investigation, said: \u201cSince Richard disappeared 17 months ago, my team and I have worked tirelessly to understand the circumstances surrounding this case.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cUnfortunately we have not yet been able to trace him and sadly now believe he may have been killed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe arrests made today are as a result of evidence that has recently come to light and I hope we will now move closer to having the answers his family so desperately needs.<\/p>\n
