Sheffield Climate Alliance are urging people to attend the Sheffield City Council Elections Environment Hustings throughout the week.<\/p>\n
The climate-focused events are being held online and there are six meetings, giving people the chance to ask their local candidates questions before choosing who to vote for on 6 May.<\/p>\n
Each event will focus on a different constituency, with South East Sheffield, Stocksbridge & Ecclesfield, Heeley, Central, Hallam and Brightside & Hillsborough being covered throughout the week.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson from SCA said: “A hustings is basically an opportunity for citizens and communities to ask questions to their local candidates before choosing who to vote for.”<\/p>\n
“The events are supported by a number of organisations that come under the Sheffield Climate Alliance banner.<\/p>\n
“We are not affiliated with any particular party, and we act as a ‘critical friend’ to the Council, which basically means we provide support and guidance on environmental and social issues.”<\/p>\n
