A new safe and inclusive LGBTQ+ friendly bar will open in Doncaster tomorrow.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Library, situated in St George Gate next to Doncaster\u2019s high street, will open for the first time at midday, serving a wide range of drinks and cocktails.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bar will be the first LGBTQ+ inclusive venue in Doncaster, accepting anyone through the doors, regardless of their sexuality or gender. The main aim of the bar is to provide a safe space for all to enjoy themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sam Teale-Price, 32, from Doncaster, decided to create the bar when he noticed a lack of accepting, safe social spaces in the town.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Teale-Price said: \u201cAn inclusive space like this is massively important, especially in Doncaster. There have been plenty of steps made in the UK to improve inclusivity, but we still have a way to go.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“We like to use the word \u2018human\u2019 to describe our approach, meaning anyone can come into the bar and be accepted\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When the venue opens tomorrow, table service will be offered for socially distanced drinks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once customers are seated, they will be able to order through an app. However, the tables will each come complete with a rainbow flag, which customers can wave to call over a member of staff.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This system will continue for the upcoming weeks until 21 June, when coronavirus restrictions are set to ease.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Library will be a two-storey venue, the second floor is designed for quieter socialising, whereas the space downstairs will feature a dancefloor, where the club\u2019s owners hope to host events and entertainment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The bar and lounge have already announced an exciting line-up of performers and drag queens to entertain customers when restrictions allow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the packed line-up of acts are RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race stars Sum Ting Wong, Tia Kofi and The Vivienne.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
