To be confident that they will let me cross or be worried they don&#8217;t know what the changes are.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_40063\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40063\" class=\"wp-image-40063 size-medium\" style=\"-webkit-user-drag: none; display: inline-block; margin-bottom: -1ex;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2022\/02\/cyclist-positioning-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-40063\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">New cycling position to be in the middle of road, credit to GOV.UK<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Shelley Cockayne, 50, an Insurance Broker from Thompson Road, Sheffield, said: \u201cGiving priority to people waiting to cross is an accident waiting to happen.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere will be even more emissions produced as vehicles stop and wait while people hesitate, dither. That new rule is rubbish.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Since the first lockdown, there has been notable increase in the number of cars on the road.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca Hammond, 40, a member of Cycle Sheffield, from Lodge Moor, started cycling to work about 18 months ago.<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cI hope the THINK! campaign (a government campaign to deliver road safety) can emphasises this new hierarchy of road users.
