An unlikely Milton Keynes runner is planning to complete the Sheffield half marathon in a fundraising effort for her aunt and best friend, both of whom have Multiple Sclerosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Roisin Thorburn, Anna James’ best friend ‘who always puts a smile on her face’, has been informed that she will run the Sheffield half marathon in her honour on 26 March. Thorburn was diagnosed with MS two years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the 20-year-old, who has known Roisin since she was nine, is not a natural runner, Anna is determined to complete the 13.2-mile race for her and in memory of her aunt Adelaide James, who recently passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite her continuous battle with MS, Adelaide travelled the world and became an amazing nurse, caring for so many people and saving lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna said: \u201cAdelaide is one of my biggest inspirations in life and taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to \u2013 including running a half marathon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna has been able to see the first-hand effects of the disease and the difficulties it can cause in people\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nevertheless, she has been enormously motivated by Roisin and Adelaide’s resolve to continue living with such a passion for life despite their battles with MS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said: \u201cRoisin has been a light in my life and has so much love for life and inspires me daily to do what I love and smile.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
