Sheffield Beer Week returns for its ninth year with a new theme of \u2018Going back to our beer roots\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year’s events showcase and celebrate the brilliant beers and breweries Sheffield has to offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is Sheffield Beer Week?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Sheffield Beer Week is a week-long festival where pubs, bars and restaurants collaborate with local and national breweries and many new beers are created. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The first Sheffield Beer Week was held in 2015 and organised by two beer lovers, Jules Gray and Clare Tollick, who were inspired by the SIBA conference and Beer X festival and wanted to showcase their local beer scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Jules Gray, organiser of Sheffield Beer Week, said: \u201cI think it’s a really positive thing for the city. I kept seeing all these beer weeks in America and I was getting frustrated with people talking about Manchester and Leeds but no one was talking about Sheffiled\u2019s beer scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI think it’s different and unique and has its own personality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is happening this Sheffield Beer Week?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Sheffield breweries Tapped Brew Co, Little Critters, Heist, Loxley, Abbeydale and True North are already planning special beers for the week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Tapped Brew Co is also planning a live brewing day on Wednesday with Head Brewer, Ben Tysoe, brewing a new beer all afternoon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Saint Mars of the Desert and Stancill breweries are hosting open tap days, whilst the restored Kelham Island Brewery will be highlighting its flagship beer Pale Rider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When does Sheffield Beer Week begin?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The week is kicking off with Indie Beer Feast on 3 March and 4 March all day at Trafalgar Square, Sheffield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The boutique beer feast offers a collaboration with Abbeydale Brewery with their Cloud Peak Session IPA, brewery bars, natural wine and street food.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jules Gray, the head organiser of Indie Beer Feast, said: \u201cI would love for people to discover what’s in their home town and try new beers that are made right on their doorstep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI want to remind people of the importance of supporting your local economy and create a joyful celebration that brings that human connection back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
