A renowned Sheffield pub plans to close the road for St Patrick\u2019s day celebrations on Friday for its first major event since the reopening. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fagan’s pub in Broad Lane reopened last Thursday after previous owners Tom and Barbara Boulding decided to close the pub in January after 37 years of ownership. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pub was taken on by a nine member group which includes Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders and Rockingham groups James O\u2019Hara and James Hill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ian Stanyer, part of the nine member ownership group, said: \u201cWe are planning to shut the road by the pub for a joint St Patrick\u2019s day and reopening celebration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are all really excited about it all.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connor, Assistant Manager at Fagan\u2019s, said: \u201cWe are closing off the back road for a street party, we have got street renders, a bar outside and Irish dancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are a lot of people looking forward to it, I am looking forward to it so it should be really good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group started on a Whatsapp chat as they were talking about the potential permanent closure of the pub. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stanyer said: \u201cWe were all quite sad about the whole thing, we all love the pub and wanted to do something about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to see it open, we want to see people enjoying it again just like we did. Our plan is to include loads of live events with musicians and have more quiz nights so we can create a better environment for people to enjoy.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connor said: \u201cit\u2019s been brilliant since the pub has reopened, it\u2019s been really busy. We have had a real mix of the old Fagan\u2019s crowd and new people coming in which is nice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe wanted to keep it the same vibe as it was before, nice and cosy for people.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stanyer said: \u201cWe wanted to keep it as it was because it didn\u2019t need changing. It looks like something out of the 1950s and it was astonishing to watch and that’s really refreshing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ownership group couldn\u2019t be more thankful to the local community for its support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople were all in there giving it a clean and refurbishing it before the reopening, working incredibly hard to get the pub looking the best it can possibly be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group didn\u2019t have any long term plans until they reopened and got properly up and running. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Mr Stanyer said: \u201cAll we want to do is to make Tom and Barbara proud.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
