{"id":49279,"date":"2023-03-16T13:44:38","date_gmt":"2023-03-16T13:44:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shefnews.co.uk\/?p=49279"},"modified":"2023-03-16T13:44:38","modified_gmt":"2023-03-16T13:44:38","slug":"meet-the-disney-characters-making-a-smile-across-sheffield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/index.php\/2023\/03\/16\/meet-the-disney-characters-making-a-smile-across-sheffield\/","title":{"rendered":"Meet the Disney characters &#8216;Making a Smile&#8217; across Sheffield"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A group of students in Sheffield have started dressing up as famous Disney and Marvel characters in hopes of brightening the day of children in need.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Make a Smile\u2019 is an ever-growing charity based in Cardiff with groups stationed across the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luke Morgan, a medical student, founded the organisation in 2016 (with the support of Cardiff University Student Union) on the belief that all children deserve a childhood.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, over 25 other UK cities have got involved, founding their own regional branch. It\u2019s even expanded internationally with 12 overseas branches from Australia to France.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sheffield\u2019s own make a smile group started up in September this year and hopes to find enough members to keep it going long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Disney characters making a smile across Sheffield\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ONNiIJ_fKks?feature=oembed\"  allow=\"accelerometer;
