A University of Sheffield alumni has raised over \u00a32,000 for the university as he hikes from Manchester all the way to Sheffield<\/b><\/p>\n
Thomas Wright, a Sheffield Alumni, is hiking the 70km distance between the two cities to raise money for scholarships and bursaries at the university.<\/span><\/p>\n So far he has raised \u00a32020, he has a goal of raising \u00a32500 by the end of the hike. He has already modified his goal three times after originally aiming to raise \u00a31,200.<\/span><\/p>\n Mr Wright said: “The current cost of living has exacerbated a situation that already provides significant concerns to applicants and students, and these have motivated me to fundraise. I want to actively make a difference<\/span> at a time when financial support is needed more than ever.”<\/span><\/p>\n The money raised will be enough to fund an entire scholarship for a disadvantaged student and also a bursary.
