{"id":50796,"date":"2023-04-27T12:51:25","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T11:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shefnews.co.uk\/?p=50796"},"modified":"2023-04-27T12:51:25","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T11:51:25","slug":"new-figures-reveal-significant-increase-in-rental-costs-in-sheffield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/index.php\/2023\/04\/27\/new-figures-reveal-significant-increase-in-rental-costs-in-sheffield\/","title":{"rendered":"New figures reveal significant increase in rental costs in Sheffield"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New data has revealed Sheffield ranks as the city in Yorkshire which has seen the highest percentage increase in rent costs year on year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New figures from Zoopla\u2019s UK rental market report indicate that rent charged by landlords in Sheffield has increased more than almost any other major cities in Yorkshire including Leeds, York and Doncaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2022 the average rental cost was \u00a3679 per calendar month, with 2023 figures showing a 10% increase at \u00a3747pcm for 1-4 bed properties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the report Richard Donnell, executive director from Zoopla, said that rents will continue to rise over 2023 but at a slower rate as demand moderates and affordability pressures start to bite harder on renters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2023\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-04-27-at-10.33.52-AM.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50845\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The percentage change in the year to January 2023 is higher in Sheffield than in Leeds (9.4 per cent), Doncaster (4.8 per cent) and York (7.2 per cent), according to the Zoopla data.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2023 average monthly rent of major cities in Yorkshire is shown on the graph below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2023\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2023-04-27-at-10.33.44-AM.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-50846\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Zoopla UK rental market report, the average monthly rent of 1-4 bed properties in Doncaster equates to \u00a3632. The average monthly rent of 1-4 bed properties in Leeds and York are reportedly at \u00a3916 and \u00a31032 respectively.
