The world market returns to Sheffield today and will be open until bank holiday Monday at the peace gardens and town hall square\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stalls are packed with everything from various street foods, confectionery, plants, craft items, even clothing and jewellery can be found as well as ornaments which are sure to brighten up your bank holiday.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The market began today and can be found across the Peace Gardens and Town hall Square. The opening time of the market is 9am to 6pm and 10am to 5pm on Sunday and bank holiday Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pedro, 38, who runs a German salami mix stall has been coming to Sheffield annually for over ten years now, he said \u201cI enjoy meeting different people from the community each and every year, over the weekend and especially the bank holiday when more people come and see the stalls, it’s fun to meet people in different cities\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sheffield World market veteran added, \u201cSheffield is a lively city with lots of students, so I want to bring different and unique foods they may not have experienced without having to travel across the world to get it.\u201d, \u201cThe atmosphere has been great so far but it\u2019ll only get better as we get to the weekend and bank holiday\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another vendor Gemma, 36, who runs an Italian gelato ice cream stall is setting up shop at the market for the very first time this weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said: \u201cThe people have been very welcoming and friendly, and the outdoor facilities create a great atmosphere because it lets people enjoy their food before they carry on with their shopping.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The market features authentic cuisine from across the world ranging from sausage sandwiches to fresh Turkish baklava.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gemma also said: \u201cThe market brings a range of cultures together and it’s amazing to see everyone happy and having a good time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I can’t wait to see everyone over the bank holiday it should be welcoming to families and tourists because there really is something for everyone here whether its fresh food or desserts and sweet treats.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheffield resident Charles Kenworthy, 20, said: \u201cIt’s a great place to meet with friends and it’s good to see Sheffield’s city centre nice and busy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s much more lively than usual, the prices are a bit expensive but I don’t mind paying it because the food is amazing and the market won’t be here forever apart from that I’ve enjoyed the experience.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
