The King\u2019s Coronation is a ceremony which will take place on the 6th<\/sup> of May, where HM King Charles III will be formally crowned as king.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The purpose of the ceremony is to reflect the Monarch\u2019s role today and look towards the future, whilst performing lifelong traditions of the royal family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It will take place in Westminster Abbey in London but can be watched live between 11am and 5pm on BBC IPlayer and ITVX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Sunday the 7th<\/sup> of May, there will also be a coronation concert taking place at Windsor Castle. Artists, such as Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, will be performing live to honour the historic occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Where can I celebrate in Sheffield?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If you haven\u2019t noticed already, many areas in Sheffield have been decorated with red, white and blue for the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, the main event will be taking place at the Peace Gardens, which is located between the Moor and Arundel Gate in Sheffield\u2019s city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The event is organised by Sheffield City Council and residents are encouraged to come down and enjoy a celebration spreading across the 6th<\/sup> and the 7th<\/sup> of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What is happening on each day in the Peace Gardens?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n On Saturday the 6th<\/sup> of May the Lord Mayor will be holding a Coronation party, which means you can watch the ceremony on a big screen whilst surrounded by the Sheffield community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once the royal proceedings are over, the family favourite film \u2018Paddington\u2019 will be shown, alongside various street entertainment acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On Sunday the 7th<\/sup> of May, the coronation concert will also be broadcast live on the big screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before 3pm, there will be screenings of \u2018Paddington 2\u2019 and \u2018The Boy Who Would Be King\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n How much will it cost and what should I bring?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The event is accessible to all as it is free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or something to sit on, alongside drinks and snacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although there will be several food and drink places nearby where you can also grab refreshments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is there anything else going on?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Alongside the celebrations in the Peace Gardens, bars and restaurants across the city will be contributing to the celebratory atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There will also be a series of street parties organised by neighbourhoods across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n St Matthews Church on Carver Street is one of the many hosting a street party, which will take place on Sunday the 7th<\/sup> of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ian Burgess, who is a key organiser and the development worker at the Church, said: “This is an important time for us to get together. When a monarch is anointed, we should pray they\u2019re full of wisdom and our country is in good hands.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Of course, you don\u2019t have to be religious to attend, it\u2019s a good knees up. We will have live music, hot pork rolls, beers, games. It will be a fun get together.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n The party will take place from 12:30pm until 4pm and tickets can be purchased on their website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Should I attend?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Susan Ilison, 47, who is a Nurse from Sheffield and a Royal fan, said: “I\u2019m so happy the council is making an effort to bring the community together.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “This is a really monumental moment in history which everyone should see and take the opportunity to celebrate.
