Each leg will be run with a different society from the university.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Donovan said: \u201cI know a couple of people that have had testicular cancer and wanted to get involved in something like this to raise awareness and oddballs is a fun way of doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is one of 10 university students across the UK, taking the role of a student fundraising ambassador for the Foundation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is part of a new initiative introduced this year, to help the Oddballs cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cI liked the message oddballs spread, as they attract a lot of eyes to the subject through funky merchandise and other means of spreading awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOnce I saw that they were open to bringing more ambassadors on board I thought it would be a very proactive way to help spread awareness for testicular cancer. As well as raising money for a great cause.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"828\" height=\"828\" data-id=\"59718\" src=\"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/IMG_8883.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-59718\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/IMG_8883.jpg 828w, https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/IMG_8883-480x480.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 828px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"828\" height=\"818\" data-id=\"59716\" src=\"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/IMG_8882.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-59716\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/IMG_8882.jpg 828w, https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/IMG_8882-480x474.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 828px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation is the UK\u2019s leading charity raising awareness of testicular cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cancer is most prominent in young men, aged 15-49, where there are more than six people diagnosed every day.&nbsp;However, if detected early, it is one of the most curable cancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Josh Goodwin, 23, runs the University ambassador program and said: \u201cThese fundraising ambassadors have a significant impact in terms of allowing us to become more of a sustainable charity through their fundraising challenges and events such as Donovan\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cThe money raised is massive. It goes straight back into the charity, allowing us to run the programme and start new initiatives and allow our ambassadors to help raise awareness of testicular cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Donovan has raised a total of \u00a375 so far on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justgiving.com\/page\/donovan-rodgers-1706528350007\">JustGiving page<\/a>, with a target of \u00a31000.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A University of Sheffield student is set to hit the pavement in a bid to raise both funds and awareness for the battle against testicular cancer.
