Autism friendly film viewings are on a Saturday, where a new release will be shown, after their pre-existing family friendly screenings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isobel Harrop, the programming assistant at the cinema says that so far they have received positive feedback.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think for people who need that relaxed feedback, it\u2019s nice to have that there and not feel self-conscious about having to ask a child to be quiet or stop running about. It gives people a level of comfort and security that you are not disturbing anyone else,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the relaxed screenings have low level lights on throughout, lower volume of sound and allow people to get up and move about if needed and make noise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are also no trailers or adverts before the film starts and no allocated seats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-crowdsignal wp-block-embed-crowdsignal\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<script>var pd_tags = new Array;pd_tags[\"13415077-src\"]=\"poll-oembed-simple\";<\/script><script type=\"text\/javascript\" charset=\"utf-8\" src=\"https:\/\/secure.polldaddy.com\/p\/13415077.js\"><\/script><noscript><iframe title=\"How likely are you to attend an accessible screening?\" src=\"https:\/\/poll.fm\/13415077\/embed\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"cs-iframe-embed\"><\/iframe><\/noscript>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The cinema is a dementia friendly organisation recognised by The Alzheimer\u2019s Society.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Harrop said: \u201cWe want to be a place where people enjoy films without any barriers. We want to reduce the amount of obstacles there are for people with disabilities, neurodivergence, or any other reason that you might not be able to come to the cinema normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe more solutions we can offer for that, the better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their mission for increasing accessibility doesn\u2019t stop there. They also offer subtitled films every Monday and audio description of films.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cinema allows carers to attend the cinema without having to buy an additional ticket, if they have a CEA card.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Harrop added: \u201cIf you require someone to come with you to the cinema, you shouldn\u2019t have to pay twice as much as anyone else, if you wanted to come on your own but can\u2019t.
