The Victorian pub in Broomhill, The York, has changed ownership and is hoping to refurbish this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The old team released a statement to social media: \u201cOur time at The York has come to an end – we\u2019ve had an incredible 14 years serving the people of Broomhill.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The York was built in 1830 and was originally a blacksmith\u2019s and alehouse called the Travellers Inn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was refurbished in 2010 to become the well-loved pub The York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\u00a0True North Brew Co. recently sold The York in Broomhill to the All Points North Pub Co. This pub is the new owners first venture into the Sheffield pub scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ed Mason, the co-founder of All Points North, said: \u201cWe are delighted to be spreading our wings to Sheffield and for The York to be joining our growing portfolio of pubs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Steve Holt, the founder of Kirkstall Brewery has collaborated with Mr Mason to set up their new pub company as a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under new ownership, The York will be showcasing beers from Kirkstall Brewery and Five Points Brewing (owned by the new owner, Mr. Mason), alongside guest beers from Sheffield’s craft and independent breweries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They’ll also have food and drink options from local suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Mason said: \u201cSteve Holt and I believe in running friendly, welcoming pubs with an emphasis on a wide range of well-kept beer and a quality food menu – respecting the pub\u2019s history, supporting local suppliers and providing a warm welcome to a diverse range of the local community.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Until there are set plans for the revamping in the summer of 2024, the new ownership will continue to run the pub retaining all of the front of house staff as well as the kitchen staff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the current food will remain the same, there are plans for the pub to introduce fresh options with input with the current staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The York will be reopening at 4pm today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
