The stop at Magna Science Adventure Centre will be the newest addition to the route since opening in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheffield\u2019s City Region will fund \u00a36.6m from their \u00a3166m Transforming City Fund into the new tram stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the addition of this new stop, more than 200,000 journeys could be made each year on the team, and will hopefully increase footfall to the centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Max Griffith, 25 said: \u201cI travel to Meadowhall most days a week for work so I use the tram a lot. Some of my family lives in Rotherham too so the new stop would be helpful to get closer to where I need to be when I visit.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tram program has been in place for five years and has had benefits of lower maintenance costs, with 2.3 million journeys completed so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emma Sampson, 30 said: “I think it\u2019s a really good idea to extend the tram services because recently they haven\u2019t been very reliable, I use the tram nearly everyday and it would be useful to me to have more stops so I can get to work quicker.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new tram train stop is an enhancement of the network and will improve additional transport to the Magna Centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
