UK University Search held a spring fair at the University of Sheffield, bringing hundreds of college students to the campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fair was held at the Octagon on 14 March, providing a range of university booths for students to choose which university or apprenticeship is right for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nosheen Riaz, Director of UK University Search, said: \u201cThe main purpose of the event is to encourage 16 to 19-year-olds to further their careers, whether through education or going to university and think about the next step of their future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVisitors can speak to a lot of people, get a lot of goodies, and on the day just get an experience of campus life because a lot of them haven\u2019t seen how a university would look.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fair featured seminars on topics such as UCAS Personal Statement & Application Advice, Why Take an Apprenticeship, Choosing a University Course, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, and Student Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faye Davenport, 21, a student recruitment advisor at Edge Hill University, said: \u201cWe are all here to help them figure it out. If you chat with us, I will tell you about what we are, what we look like, and what posts we make.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

University Search UK runs events all over the UK, and attendees can speak to many exhibiting universities and apprenticeship providers. These include Russell Group, red brick and modern institutions, apprenticeship providers, and local colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jude Schofield, Director of UK University Search, said: \u201cThey\u2019re running tours on the campus, so we collaborated with the University of Sheffield.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some visitors at the event said it was great because it allowed them to see more possibilities for their future and got advice based on their grades.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, some students from Nottingham who had exams the next day said the fair was boring and too busy. They thought the five-hour drive was not worth it when the fair could be held back home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
