Sheffield Wednesday\u2019s Community programme is set to launch the new \u2018Free-Kicks\u2019 campaign, this Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new initiative will allow people to exchange used footwear for money, with funds being provided to asylum seekers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul Hebda, Owls Community Manager, believes the campaign will create \u201ca positive change\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is so important for us as a club to look after our community, and this new campaign can give the chance for marginalised individuals to make a change on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFootwear is a luxury in football which is taken for granted. Some people have it far worse, and we need to give them opportunities\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chelsea and England football star, Cole Palmer, joins a partnership with the Yorkshire outfit, alongside the Premier League and Cif cleaning company, which will feature a new building being opened next to the SWFC Club shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a UK wide study, Cif found that 98% per cent of community sports group leaders agree that the cost of new footballing equipment is a cost-of-living challenge for their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
