A new zero waste shop has been opened by a newlyweds in Sheffield this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The couple, Sam and Taylor Ogle-Timson, of Whitham Road, named their shop Trixie\u2019s Pantry after their two-year-old dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taylor said: \u201cThis is a zero waste shop, so you can just walk in and fill your own jars.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The store provides all of the essentials you can find in your own pantry including coffee, tea and oat milk. There are also different shapes of containers on the shelves for customers if they haven\u2019t brought their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unlike the other big businesses in town, from one gram to a kilogram, you are given the option to choose the amount of goods you want to buy freely. The fact that this is a small business means that all the money that\u2019s made here is going back to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sam said: \u201cWe are going to try to make sure as much of it goes into the Sheffield economy as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By doing so, the couple hope to encourage people to buy only what they need and to avoid wasting plastic bags when shopping at the bigger supermarkets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trixie\u2019s Pantry can be found at 467 Glossop Road in Broomhill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
