Gig goers arrived at Shakespeare\u2019s in Sheffield last night in support of the Palestine Children\u2019s Relief Fund<\/a> (PCRF).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fundraiser aimed to use Sheffield\u2019s strong association with music to raise money for a worthy cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlie Davies, one of the event\u2019s organisers, said: \u201cIt\u2019s great to see so many people show up and do their part, even if it\u2019s just showing their support by attending a gig, it all helps \u201d.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sold out event\u2019s line up included bands such as The turncoats and Agropaco and saw over 80 tickets sold and over \u00a3400 raised. The \u00a35 ticket price made sure the gig was still accessible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PCRF states that their aim is \u201cto provide medical and humanitarian relief collectively and individually to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality or religion\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charity works by providing both humanitarian and infrastructure projects surrounding Palestine as well as providing shelter and medical help to those children affected by conflict. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fundraiser is just one of the events exhibiting Sheffield\u2019s solidarity with Palestine as demonstrations have taken place across the city with more planned for later today and across the weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
