Two Sheffield residents have set up an Instagram and submission page to create a platform for the victims of catcalling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The page, ‘catcallsofsheff<\/a>‘ takes each submission and goes to the location where the incident happened to write it on the pavement using chalk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catcalls of Sheff told ShefNews: “We want to hold harassers accountable and provide a way for victims of sexual harassment to voice their experiences. We got involved in Chalkback because of this- it’s a small form of protest but one that, we hope has a big impact.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The account was inspired by the organisation Chalkback who are an international youth-led chalk art movement that aim to tackle street harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The owners of the account Babhravi Krishnan and Flo Rushton, said: “Our message to those who are victims of harassment is that firstly, you are not alone, but also that, no matter how small you think your experience is, it is always valid and your voice is so important.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The account was created last week and has reached over 500 followers with dozens of submissions made into chalk art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The page intends to keep it running as long as possible and encourages anyone who has experienced street harassment to make a submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
