A festival celebrating all things vegan is coming to Sheffield for the first time this Sunday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Sheffield Vegan Festival\u2019 is set to host more than 60 stalls, ranging from unique food to clothing, and even some live cooking demonstrations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria Bryceson, an organiser of the event, said: \u201cThe festival was set up to raise awareness of veganism and try to help and encourage people to go vegan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of non vegans come and say \u2018we\u2019ll never try vegan food cause it\u2019s weird and boring\u2019 and we\u2019re there to show people that it\u2019s actually totally normal food.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is set to be hosted at the English Institute of Sport and is said to be \u2018Yorkshire\u2019s Biggest Vegan Extravaganza.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of the stalls present will be hosted by small family run businesses from Sheffield, which Miss Bryceson said are \u201cimportant to support – now, more than ever.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She continued: \u201cWe expect that most of the visitors will be from Sheffield, so it is an event very much for the people of Sheffield.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Businesses that are a part of the festival include vegan fish and chip shop \u2018There\u2019s No Catch\u2019<\/a>, vegan kebab shop \u2018Seitan\u2019s Kebab<\/a>\u2019, vegan pie shop \u2018Magpye<\/a>\u2019, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Happy Mouse<\/a>\u2019, an award-winning vegan cheese store from Shropshire, will also have a stall at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sam Riley, owner of Happy Mouse, said they are excited to come to Sheffield:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe know the Vegan scene is strong in Sheffield and we can\u2019t wait to showcase our vegan cheese.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the event there will also be vegan based charities that people will be able to support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miss Bryceson said: \u201cWe hope that non-vegans coming will leave with more information about how to go vegan and with lots of new ideas on what to eat and cook as a vegan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said that if the event is successful it may lead to it becoming a recurring one in the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event is being run by Vegan Events UK, who set up similar festivals across the nation, like in York, Leicester, and Pudsey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
