Two University of Sheffield students have started a clothes repair and tailoring business to help people during the cost of living crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fabienne Valancogne and Evie Watson launched @redkickertitchers<\/a> on Instagram three months ago, and they have since gained over 300 followers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pair provide services including; tailoring, hole repair and button sewing at prices which they boast to be cheaper than anywhere else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe did look at standard tailoring prices and made ours about \u2154 of the price. It\u2019s not expensive to maintain the business. We can afford to keep it quite cheap and that seems to have really pleased our customers.\u201d said Miss Watson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe both really enjoy making, sewing and fitting clothes but we don\u2019t have any qualifications apart from a GCSE in Textiles and that we fix our own clothes. It wouldn\u2019t really make sense if we priced our services to match the industry standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the cost of living crisis, everything is more expensive and it would make more sense if we market it cheaper\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As many struggle with the cost of living crisis, Miss Valancogne and Miss Watson aim to help those steer away from resorting to the high prices which fund “fast fashion” businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
