\u2018Music Makes Memories\u2019 organises \u2018friendship lunches\u2019 that are open to all ages and often include entertainment from a range of artists playing songs from over the decades to help people to reminisce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lunches are ideal for those living with dementia and can provide invaluable respite to families and carers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organiser Kathy Markwick said: \u201cI am extremely proud of the success of the events. I have so many examples of guests who confirm they are hugely beneficial.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosemary Marshall, attends many of the events across South Yorkshire. She said: \u201c I\u2019ve been  trying to get hubby out and be more social in our old age. I like socialising, I like meeting new people and this is a brilliant way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There has been a huge demand for social events like this since the pandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Marshall said: \u201cThere are lots of people who can’t get out or don’t know anybody and they come here, meet someone new. The social is brilliant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A typical Friendship Lunch includes live music and a 2 course lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are events in Crookes, Crosspool, Beighton, Bents Green, Manor Park, Kimberworth, Chapeltown and Grenoside.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
