{"id":61305,"date":"2024-05-16T13:24:25","date_gmt":"2024-05-16T13:24:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/?p=61305"},"modified":"2024-05-16T13:48:02","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T13:48:02","slug":"sheffield-steelers-emotional-season-showcased-in-latest-documentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/05\/16\/sheffield-steelers-emotional-season-showcased-in-latest-documentary\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheffield Steelers&#8217; emotional season showcased in latest documentary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u2018Steel: An Extraordinary Season On Ice\u2019, showcasing Sheffield\u2019s very own sports stars\u2019 journey, is now available to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A team at ITV Calendar News have been working on this special film to feature the Steelers\u2019 amazing, yet bumpy ride this season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The film covered the detailed depictions of the club\u2019s achievements, and their highs and lows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chris Dawkes, sports correspondent and presenter at ITV Yorkshire, said: \u201cIt&#8217;s a story of triumph over adversity, and the way a group of young men had to deal with unimaginable tragedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe idea of the documentary began with a conversation off camera between me and one of the players, Daniel Ciampini.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fthenottinghampanthers%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0mn3eFbgWLMtzG8SScmHfJzmPscWcYuckvsYk2MEXsKRMUgXuE5rcoQkXyWf2mMqPl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500&amp;is_preview=true\" width=\"500\" height=\"250\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Campiani recounted how \u2018the incident\u2019, which caused Nottingham Panthers player, Adam Johnson, to lose his life in October, left him feeling scared to go back on the rink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to that, they had previously lost a teammate, Alex Graham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Campiani emphasised how this had affected not just him, but also the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, despite all of the tragedies they had faced in the past year, the Steelers went ahead with the competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They achieved a \u2018Grand Slam\u2019 &#8211; all three major trophies in the British Ice Hockey league &#8211; the Elite League Title, Elite Play-Offs, and the Challenge Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dawkes\u2019 main goal was to produce a longer story rather than his original three-minute long news report to capture all of the raw emotions of the players and coach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Very excited to announce my new documentary &quot;Steel: An extraordinary season on the ice&quot; about the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/steelershockey?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@steelershockey<\/a> will be dropping on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ITVX?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ITVX<\/a> this afternoon.
