Sheffield Bricktropolis<\/a> returns for the fourth time to wow LEGO enthusiasts young and old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Safari themed trail is available to visitors until Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moor is hosting several displays, including a red ruff lemur, and a bengal tiger which took more than 390 hours to construct using over 81,000 bricks. Other statues include animals such as an African leopard, an alligator, and a hyena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard Pilgrim, Project Manager at Sheffield BID, said: \u201cWe deliver events like Sheffield Bricktropolis to drive footfall, dwell time and bring additional spend to the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvents such as Sheffield Bricktropolis aim to encourage more people to visit the city centre during this traditionally quieter period, so that businesses can benefit from this dedicated event footfall.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous trails have yielded visitor numbers between 15,000 and 20,000 people, with this year\u2019s involved venues all having disabled access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard Pilgrim said: \u201cThis event is applicable for all ages and people from all demographics, and can provide a very low-cost activity at a time when more people are feeling financially stretched.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trail itself has an important educational aspect to it, since each brick statue is accompanied with detailed information and fun facts about the displayed animal. A total of 17 brick models can be found across the city centre<\/a>, some of which include endangered species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previous events were themed around world landmarks, space and, most recently, dinosaurs in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All models should be accessible 10am and 5pm, with some variation to opening times on Sundays. The Millenium Gallery<\/a>, the venue hosting the meerkat statues, is closed on Mondays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trail is completely free to visit, with an optional \u00a31 map that can be purchased at Brick Central, which is located next to the Winter Garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can enter a prize draw for a trip to LEGOLAND\u00ae, or an alternative \u00a31,000 Sheffield City Centre gift card by returning the completed trail map to Brick Central by 4pm, this Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheffield BID<\/a> is a not-for-profit organisation and all proceeds raised will be reinvested in their activities to help improve the city centre environment and maintain their diverse events programme for local communities and visitors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
