The Sheffield Home of Football charity has announced a series of guided football history walks in the city this year, with the first one kicking off tomorrow.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 90 minutes tour across the city centre aims to inform on Sheffield\u2019s unique footballing heritage and history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steve Wood, a charity trustee, said: \u201cOur tours appeal to people interested in the many historic landmarks that Sheffield has connected to the development of early association football.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charity hopes this event will help them to achieve their educational aims as well as raise funds for other projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Wood added: \u201cWe ran approximately ten city centre tours last year for around 120 people. We plan to run seven city centre tours this year plus seven new Lost Grounds walking tours around the Bramall Lane area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both these events are bookable via their website and Eventbrite at \u00a35 per person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These walks are designed to give football fans, history enthusiasts, and visitors an opportunity to delve deeper into Sheffield’s football past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Wood said: \u201cAll our tours are about making Sheffield people – as well as visitors – aware of the city’s world class football history. And they\u2019re for anybody interested in the city’s heritage!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tomorrow\u2019s event is enabled by the charities own funding, and is ran entirely by volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sheffield Home of Football charity offers other educational talks and events throughout the year, which can be found on their website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
