The Old Queen\u2019s Head has planned a tour to showcase the pub\u2019s history of paranormal activity this Sunday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located on Pond Hill, the pub is the oldest domestic building in Sheffield, dating back to 1475. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the day, participants will be offered either a homemade pie or Sunday roast, followed by a tour with some ghost-hunting equipment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stuart Croker became the pub\u2019s landlord in November. He said, \u201cHaving the opportunity to take this place on was just unbelievable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve gone from strength to strength and we\u2019re in a good position now where I\u2019m really pushing the historical and paranormal side of the pub.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, there has been speculation that the venue is haunted. There have been reported sightings of a civil war soldier near the old fireplace, and even the spirit of a dog that likes to sit on people\u2019s knees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Croker is an avid photographer and part of the paranormal investigative group \u2018Echoed Voices Paranormal\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, \u201cI\u2019ve captured things myself in different locations that have looked like full apparitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It\u2019s trying to get the public to be able to see the communication with these spirits and see the documented evidence we\u2019ve got that this palace is haunted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event has proven popular, having sold out only weeks after it was announced. The hunt will be run by Mr Croker and colleague Tracy Lycett, a Sheffield based spiritualist medium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Old Queen\u2019s Head began as a hunting lodge for the Sixth Earl of Shrewsbury and his wife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since becoming a pub, the venue has remained an important part of Sheffield\u2019s heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name is thought to refer to Mary Queen of Scots, famously held captive in Sheffield. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Croker was a regular himself before taking on the pub and had a keen interest in Sheffield\u2019s history, he said, \u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed every minute of being the landlord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google reviews of the pub also mention the hauntings. One reads \u2018It\u2019s a great little pub. A building steeped in history. They made my son smile with football banter and tales of a haunted toilet.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
