{"id":64988,"date":"2025-05-01T10:45:55","date_gmt":"2025-05-01T10:45:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/?p=64988"},"modified":"2025-05-01T12:27:12","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T12:27:12","slug":"sheffields-pop-culture-landmark-finds-a-new-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/05\/01\/sheffields-pop-culture-landmark-finds-a-new-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheffield\u2019s pop culture landmark finds a new home\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Sheffield\u2019s iconic Forbidden Planet comic book shop has&nbsp;relocated&nbsp;after 36 years, with a grand opening event&nbsp;designed to attract new fans from across the city.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The revamped store is set to open on The Moor at the heart of Sheffield\u2019s city&nbsp;centre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked about the transition, Dan Liles, a senior member of staff at Forbidden Planet Sheffield, said: &#8220;There have been plans to move for a while, we were at our previous location for about 40 years, and it was a bit out of the way, we had a lot of people coming in that didn\u2019t even know we were there &#8211; the most important thing was to be on the main stretch of The Moor.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: &#8220;I can\u2019t give too much away but there is a plan, we have another floor that is&nbsp;currently used for storage, but we intend to utilise it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s days like Batman Day and Superman Day and lots of other anniversaries to look forward to.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fresh storefront boasts over two-floors of comics and collectibles and the larger venue will provide a space for community events.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83e\udd2b  Shhh!
