A cancer patient is advocating for better sun safety education in Sheffield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Charlotte Killeya, 45, of Ranmoor, Sheffield, has stage four melanoma, and is working with charities to spread awareness about skin cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The campaign includes a digital billboard in Sheffield City Centre that urges people to wear sunscreen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mrs Killeya was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2020, and after 10 months of treatment she was told it had spread to her lungs, neck and brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said: \u201cEven people in their teens and their late twenties can get melanoma, so it\u2019s really important to check your skin and keep safe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She\u2019s also been visiting schools to talk about sun safety, and advocating for businesses with outdoor spaces to get sunscreen dispensers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
