Derbyshire Open Arts will be taking place in various locations in the area this bank holiday weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artists throughout Derbyshire will be opening up their home studios Saturday 24 to Monday 26 to present their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leigh Wood, a previously featured artist and owner of company Metal Manipulation<\/a>, is now Chair of the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: \u201cMy background is metal work, I make industrial style lighting and furniture, but this will be my first year as chair so it\u2019s exciting times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI’ve actually gained a new venue for them this year, the Mercia Marina at Willington, which is actually holding the most artists this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re already making some big changes to make the event as big as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event<\/a> is funded through artists subscriptions to the organisation and is run by volunteers, with a big focus on supporting as many local artists as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
