Two Sheffield men have been jailed for over 10 years after being found to be operating a Class A drugs line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mohammed Sajid, 26, and Abidul Islam, 26, were first stopped by Sheffield police in June 2024 after reports of a suspicious vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a search of a vehicle, officers discovered quantities of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, as well as three mobile phones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigating Officer PC Katie Haliburton said: \u201cBoth Islam and Sajid were operating a highly sophisticated drugs line and thought they could get away with their crimes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have no tolerance for illegal drugs, and we are fully committed to tackling the ongoing issue of drug supply within our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A house search additionally revealed a brown substance wrapped in tin foil, a knife, and a bundle of cash amounting to approximately \u00a35,000 in total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police estimate that the drugs discovered were worth between \u00a322,000 to \u00a329,000, as part of the drugs line operated between February and June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Forensic evidence from the drugs and phones allowed Islam and Sajid to be charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Islam was also charged with possession of criminal property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Islam pleaded guilty to his charges in August 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sajid pleaded not guilty, but was found guilty at trial at Sheffield Crown Court in February 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both men were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday, 4 February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sajid, of Wolseley Road, Sheffield, received a sentence of five years and ten months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Islam, of Shortbrook Road, Sheffield, was sentenced to five years and eight months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officer Katie Haliburton added: “I am pleased with the sentences Islam and Sajid have been handed, and I encourage the public to report any concerns you may have to us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
