The award was announced at the 2026 Michelin Guide Ceremony in Dublin on February 9th. Michelin inspectors praised J\u00d6RO\u2019s cooking as \u201cpure and occasionally playful\u201d, with quality ingredients \u201ctreated with respect and understanding\u201d. They also commended the \u201cexcellent service\u201d, describing it as \u201ca real team effort\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stacey described the moment their name was called as ‘surreal’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe were anxious to start with,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen they called our name, we just couldn\u2019t believe it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve been talked about for many years in terms of these accolades. To finally achieve it, it means everything,\u201d she said. \u201cBringing a Michelin star back to Sheffield is pretty monumental for the city\u2019s food scene.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The recognition places Sheffield firmly back on the fine-dining map. \u201cIf you look at the map of starred restaurants from London to Scotland, there was a gap in the middle. We\u2019ve kind of filled that gap now,\u201d Stacey added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Teamwork has been central to the restaurant\u2019s success. \u201cThe team we\u2019ve had over the last year are the ones who helped us achieve this accolade,\u201d she said. \u201cNow that we\u2019ve attained it, it\u2019s about making sure the standard is there all of the time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
