A Sheffield gig promoter is turning a night of live music into a fundraiser for local charity ASSIST Sheffield on the 20th March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

George Bushell, of Big Ears Promotions, said the idea came about whilst chatting to local band Bumwave as they organised an event for them to perform at in March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bushell said: “When discussing which charity, ASSIST Sheffield was mentioned. The guys from Bumwave also mentioned that they would love to do a proper fundraiser for ASSIST Sheffield in the future.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I suggested, why don\u2019t we do that for this gig? And that’s when I reached out to the guys from ASSIST Sheffield, they loved the idea and have been so helpful in helping turn this gig into a charity fundraiser.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big Ears Promotions are independent gig organisers and promoters and not attached to a specific venue, but Bushell praised Shakespeares for hosting the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Shakespeare’s have been very supportive of this event and have been behind us and helpful in every way. They believe that the pub is for everyone and are very inclusive in a lot of initiatives.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The night will feature two bands, who will both bring a lot of energy and noise – Bumwave and Rat Pakk. Bumwave blend a mixture of experimental, hardcore, and garage. Meanwhile, Rat Pakk are an anarchist, queer punk collective known for their aggressive, politically charged sound. Expect banging tunes with punk sounds and discordant noise all for a great cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bushell said: “We hope we can raise some money for the charity. ASSIST is a Sheffield-based charity supporting destitute people seeking asylum. We hope the money raised from this gig can help ASSIST Sheffield in their vision of helping all people seeking sanctuary to live life with dignity and hope for the future.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are donating 25% of all ticket sales and 100% of all profits from this event, plus other donations from generous people to ASSIST Sheffield.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
