The Indie Beer Feast returns this year in Trafalgar Warehouse with a focus on the city\u2019s synth music history. The festival runs from the 6 to the 7 of March with 14 breweries taking part in the whole event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Feast is a 2 day craft-beer festival which previews the Sheffield Beer Week being held from the 9 to 15 of March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival Organiser and \u2018Hop Hideout\u2019 owner, Jules Gray, said: \u201cThe idea is it brings people to the city for a few days. They then go and enjoy events for the rest of the Sheffield beer week. It creates a bit of a bigger buzz and interest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: “there’s 11 collaboration brew beers coming out from local breweries and they’re all inspired by Sheffield electronic bands like Cabre, Voltaire and the Human League.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the beers being sold at the feast that has been inspired by Sheffield\u2019s synth music history is \u201cNag Nag Nag\u201d by Bradfield Brewery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jules also spoke about the ethos behind the event, she said: \u201cit’s not about over consumption or that kind of angle. We’re talking about community heritage. We’re talking about beer and food pairing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival will offer a range of food and drink for attendees with some pubs, like the Harlequin Pub offering their own select menu for the feast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established in 2018, the event originally took place in the Abbeydale Ballroom before moving to the the Trafalgar Warehouse in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jules said that she wanted to, \u201cshowcase Sheffield breweries, but also the brilliant, independent beer scene has a really welcoming space. For people to celebrate beer and to enjoy it”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo, for me, it’s the community which is important for students as well. You may come to a city and not know anyone. How do you get to know people? It may be through third spaces like a pub and very much there are pubs within the heart of a lot of student places like the Hallamshire house is in a very student area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
