A historic Sheffield spa hotel opened its doors to the public for a day of wellbeing activities and relaxation with a city mental health charity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenwood Hall hotel, located on Kenwood Road in Sheffield, opened its spa, pool and gym for free use last Thursday 5 March, after it paired up with Sheffield Mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors had the opportunity to try anything from mindfulness workshops, art activities, and yoga sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lindsay Doyle-Price, the Business Development Manager at Sheffield Mind, said: \u201cIt was lovely to be able to raise awareness of the services we provide to people who might otherwise have not been aware.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheffield Mind used the opportunity to talk to visitors and guests about the all-important work they do, and how people can access services if they need them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms Doyle-Price added that the team at Kenwood Hall were \u201cso supportive\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spa staff ran a raffle on the day to raise additional money for the charity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenwood Hall was open to the public all day from 11am to 7pm, with the opportunity to tour the spa and leisure facilities, and enjoy complimentary treatments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grounds were \u201cbathed in sunshine\u201d, creating a beautiful environment for a day focused on personal health, wellbeing and relaxation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms Doyle-Price said: “It’s important to take a little time for ourselves and to focus on doing something that helps us to feel calmer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It restores a sense of balance that allows us to have fun and […] to interact with people who share a common interest.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Different activities were available, aimed at beginners. Many included techniques that participants could take with them to implement at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Various workshops, including mindfulness and stress management, introduced practical techniques designed to support everyday wellbeing, while the evening yoga session aimed at improving flexibility, strength and body awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors also had the chance to take part in \u2018creative therapy demonstrations\u2019, which were guided art activities where no artistic skill or previous experience was necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms Doyle-Price said: \u201cAll the participants reported an improvement in wellbeing which is exactly what was intended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTaking a time out to focus on self care is something we should all get better at.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
