It\u2019s Thelma and Louise, and it\u2019s a celebration of female friendship\u2026 We\u2019re also showing two DIY films from local filmmakers based around women\u2019s issues, centring women\u2019s stories.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event highlighted the role of film clubs as spaces for the creative community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ruby spoke about the importance of these groups, noting how filmmaking formats and methods are increasingly becoming oversaturated with the same styles and approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ruby hopes to organise more events in the future in collaboration with local Sheffield filmmakers, creating further opportunities for audiences to come together and celebrate independent cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 44 tickets had been booked ahead of the event, with organisers expecting between 30 and 40 people to attend the free screening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Films featured included independent feminist films and a classic road-movie favourite.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":827,"featured_media":68769,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_et_pb_use_builder":"","_et_pb_old_content":"","_et_gb_content_width":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[415,43,21],"tags":[1640,914,38,367],"class_list":["post-68758","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community","category-culture","category-news","tag-film","tag-internationalwomansday","tag-sheffield","tag-women"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
