<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe organiser of the protest, Casey Nelson, said: \u201cEveryone you talk to has been affected by cuts, whether it is during exam periods or during lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery single person in this university has been affected in some way. It\u2019s only going to get worse if we keep letting this happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMaking any sort of noise is going to keep putting pressure on the university which will protect our degrees.\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event had over 100 attendees with some travelling from as far as Leicester, which pleased the event\u2019s organisers. Both students and staff spoke up during the protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The morning was full of speeches, songs and chants, one of them being \u201cSolidarity forever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nelson said: \u201cEveryone should care about this because it affects you directly.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou will lose lecturers. You will lose module choices and diversity within your degree. It will be devalued.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople come to this University because it\u2019s a great uni with a great reputation. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students from the Sheffield Hallam University also spoke as their university is due to have budget cuts totalling up to \u00a327 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They believe that the two universities need to unite to prevent this from affecting their education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
