An vigil was held to remember all the women who lost their lives to male violence in 2025, as Sheffield marked International Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sheffield Women\u2019s Collective<\/a> wanted to highlight the persisting prevalence of femicide in the UK, where women are still unsafe.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n 100 women were killed due to male violence in 2025 in the UK, and on average a woman is killed by a man in the UK every three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speakers at the vigil included Zlakha Ahmed, CEO of Apna Haq<\/a>, and Flo Rushton, co-founder of Catcalls of Sheffield<\/a>, who both identified all the issues still remaining, and changes that need to be made to ensure women can thrive, rather than just survive in the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n
