The Sheffield Sustainable Market will take place at Victoria Hall on Norfolk Street on Saturday 25 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event features stalls from local sellers, food and drink stalls, and live music to celebrate Earth Day, all while promising that no single-use plastics will be used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheffield Action on Plastic, a local community organisation that aims to reduce single-use plastics in Sheffield, are running the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greg Hewitt, chair of Sheffield Action on Plastic, said: \u201cThe Sheffield sustainability market is the opportunity for people to gather around and enjoy shopping with local sellers, all while knowing there will be no single use plastics at the market at all at our market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The market will run from 11am to 4pm, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags, containers and cutlery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Past events have been attended by hundreds of local people and Mr Hewitt is hoping that Saturday\u2019s event will again see large crowds coming to support the cause.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said: \u201cWe really enjoy putting it on and bringing people together to enjoy nice food, good music and a nice atmosphere. There’s going to be some live music and it’s going to have a bit more of an entertainment feel too, which will be great.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
