Broomhill has been reported as the most popular place to live in Sheffield, with movers into the area rising by 24% each year, according to recent data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Compare My Move survey found that 10% of 1,300 new Sheffield residents moved into Broomhill last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The location is desirable to many for its proximity to the University of Sheffield, Royal Hallamshire hospital and links to the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Heather Quinn, a lettings administrator at Broomhill Property Shop, said: \u201cBroomhill has a really broad appeal beyond just the University and hospital. People like the mix of independent caf\u00e9s, shops and restaurants and how easy it is to get everything you need within walking distance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Broomhill and Sharrow Vale has a population of over 20,000, with an average resident’s age being in the mid-30s, which demonstrates it\u2019s not just students attracted to the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The surge in interest in moving to the area is partially due to previous years\u2019 falling house prices, but there is concern that prices may start to increase again this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The current average Broomhill house price is \u00a3312,000, 24% higher than the Sheffield average, but still below England\u2019s average of \u00a3350,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Heather Quinn said: \u201cIt\u2019s understandable that some people are worried about affordability. That said, there\u2019s still a good mix of properties around, so there are options for different budgets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alternatively, properties in Woodseats, which was ranked second, cost \u00a3100,000 less on average than in Broomhill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
