{"id":70421,"date":"2026-04-24T13:15:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T13:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/?p=70421"},"modified":"2026-04-24T13:15:22","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T13:15:22","slug":"shoplifter-who-broke-court-order-now-in-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/index.php\/2026\/04\/24\/shoplifter-who-broke-court-order-now-in-jail\/","title":{"rendered":"Shoplifter who broke court order now in jail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A shoplifter who stole hundreds of pounds worth of items, breaking his criminal behaviour order (CBO), has been sentenced to over two years in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Callum Ripley, of no fixed address, was banned from entering Sheffield supermarkets, such as Asda, Co-Op, Tesco and Sainsbury\u2019s in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He broke the conditions of his CBO seven times in March, stealing laundry detergent, coffee, vodka, shampoo and electronic cigarettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CCTV showed staff confronting him on multiple occasions, but he pushed past them without paying for the items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"296\" height=\"395\" src=\"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ripley-callum.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-70423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ripley-callum.jpg 296w, https:\/\/shefnews.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/ripley-callum-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 296px) 100vw, 296px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Sergeant Matt Cook, of the Sheffield North East Policing Team, said: \u201cRipley showed absolutely no regard for the people working at the stores he targeted, some of whom bravely tried to stop him from stealing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are committed to making our retail spaces a safer place for everyone who works or shops in them and I\u2019m pleased Ripley will now be spending time behind bars where he will be unable to cause any further harm.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ripley was charged with nine counts of theft, seven counts of breaching his CBO, and pleaded guilty.
