struggles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Photo by <a href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/@rustyct1?utm_source=unsplash&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_content=creditCopyText\">Rusty Watson<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/photos\/woman-in-blue-coat-standing-on-gray-asphalt-road-during-daytime-TercK6ss7F4?utm_source=unsplash&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_content=creditCopyText\">Unsplash<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nurses are being celebrated worldwide for the work they do everyday during International Nurses Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The date is marked each year on May 12, the birthday of the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cavell, a charity that aims to provide support and help to nurses and midwives going through a crisis, is a non-judgemental confidential service.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marketing and communication manager Savannah Seger said: \u201cWe believe nurses of past, present, and future should be celebrated and their work recognised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;They\u2019re there for you when patients are scared, they\u2019re there for you when you\u2019re lonely or hurting or in pain and they offer emotional comfort and medical support.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, patients are often unaware of the struggles nurses face. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Seger said: \u201cThey do it all with a smile on their face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBehind the uniform, a patient would have no idea what a nurse or midwife is really going through and they carry those personal challenges with them through their working day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The struggles nurses face have just started to come to light in recent years with burnout and staff shortages being at an all time high with over 66 per cent of nursing professionals working regularly while facing extreme stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C2hYfrAOUMZ\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF;
