A house fire on Harcourt Road was discovered by students after a night out last Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are ongoing investigations into the cause of the fire which was seen blazing through the front room window of the house, burning through the glass windows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Residents said they were terrified as they were woken up by students ‘banging on doors’ and shouting ‘fire, fire.’ <\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service arrived immediately, with three fire engines in attendance and multiple firefighters seen swarming into the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next-door neighbour Ellie Hewson said: “A woman ran out of the house and said her son was still upstairs, so my housemate ran in. It was really scary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Thankfully everyone was safe, but very shaken.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fire service cordoned off the area and dispersed gathering crowds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
