Sky Sports News presenter Tom White has become the latest ambassador for the Children’s Hospital Charity in Sheffield.
The charity support Sheffield Children’s Hospital work in funding vital research and developing facilities to help treat sick children.
White, who leads the channel’s Good Morning Transfers and Transfer Talk coverage and is a parent himself, said he had no hesitation in getting involved.
White said: “It’s difficult not to be passionate when people are working so hard to, one, save sick children’s lives and, two, make their lives better.
“But when you are in a position where you are a parent I guess it does make it feel even more so (passionate).”
The charity are currently raising money to build a new Cancer and Leukaemia ward for the 90 young patients who are treated there every year.
Robert Gurruchaga, Philanthropy Officer at The Children’s Hospital Charity, said White’s involvement will significantly help raise awareness of the latest project.
Gurruchaga said: “Tom is a huge supporter of the charity’s mission and is committed to helping us complete the fundraising for a new Cancer and Leukaemia ward.
“We are really happy to have him on Team Theo.”
