A pool at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre was closed for several hours following a ‘serious incident’.
Emergency services rushed to the scene this morning after reports of a person needing medical attention.
South Yorkshire ambulance service say they responded to a medical incident at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre and one patient was taken to hospital. No information was available about their condition.
Witnesses took to Twitter saying a helicopter and four ambulances were at the scene.
Ponds Forge International Sports Centre said on Twitter: “Due to an incident in the leisure pool, leisure sessions until 12.45pm today will be cancelled.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Further updates will be posted when available.”
The pool has now reopened.
Ponds Forge International Sports Centre urged anyone with a leisure booking to rearrange their session by emailing them at servicehub@sheffieldcitytrust.org.
