A Sheffield based Mixed martial arts gym has seen the number of members more than double since COVID.
With the second British Champion in UFC history, Leon Edwards, set to fight this weekend – MMA is the largest it has ever been in Sheffield in 2023 and one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.
Sheffield Shoot Fighters is the longest running MMA club in Sheffield.
Sam Boult, Professional fighter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, is a trainer at the gym and said they have around 40 members before COVID and have increased that number to around 100.
The coach continued, “We’ve grown since getting our own venue, maybe the fact the sport did so well in COVID. I’ve seen constant up and downs over my 20 years training.”
