Since the start of the decade, Sheffield has lost at least 17.8% of its high street shops. As you walk around the heart of the city, you will be faced with a depressing array of to-let signs, or empty shops.
Sheffield City Council are aiming to regenerate the Steel City through the Local Plan, with proposals in the works up until 2039.
Amy Neugebauer, the Assistant Planning Officer for the local council, said “the Local Plan is the catalyst for more things to be redeveloped”.
But some of the people of Sheffield, have mixed feelings about the current state of their beloved city.
