An independent bar hosted an LGBTQ+ charity event to show empowerment and raise money through music in Victoria Quays, Sheffield.
Chloe Beth Rogers, 25, one of the musicians at the event said: “Events like this make you feel like you belong somewhere.”
With mental health awareness week coming up, the bar wanted to focus on creating a ‘safe space’ for LGBTQ+ people who struggle with their mental health.
A recent study by Stonewall found that half of LGBTQ+ people experienced depression over the previous year.
Liv Muir Wilson, 25, one of the organisers said: “It can be really traumatic being queer in the UK, so the more that we can do to create these opportunities for people to get together and talk the better.”
