A Sheffield park which only opened last month has this week closed for essential work to be carried out.

Pound’s Park in Rockingham Street opened on April 3 and has proved popular with people in the area especially children.

Sheffield City Council said the work includes reconnecting utilities, ensuring safe and risk-free equipment, and updating electrics.

Just a month after it opened, the park is now closed for two weeks to allow the maintenance works to take place. The council has apologised to people enjoying the park for any inconvenience caused.
